Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and slice the ripe bananas.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Layering and Mixing

  • In a greased baking dish, layer the sliced bananas evenly to cover the bottom.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine sugar and melted butter, mixing until smooth.
  • Add all-purpose flour and baking powder to the sugar-butter mixture and mix until incorporated.
  • Pour in the milk and vanilla extract, stirring gently until the batter is smooth.
  • Carefully pour the batter over the layered bananas in the baking dish.

Baking

  • Bake the cobbler in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  • Check with a toothpick; it should come out clean when inserted in the center.
