Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Finely chop the cabbage into uniform pieces, and mince the garlic cloves.

Cooking

  • In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the finely chopped cabbage, salt, and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the cabbage starts to soften.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the vegetable broth and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
  • Cover the skillet with a lid and reduce the heat slightly. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the skillet to the oven after the stovetop cooking time.
  • Bake the covered cabbage in the oven for about 30 minutes until fork-tender and caramelized.
  • Remove from oven, take off the lid, and garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-5 days in the fridge. Reheat on low heat by adding a splash of broth or water.
