Preparation

  • Rinse the lotus petals thoroughly under cold water to remove impurities.
  • In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
  • Add the rinsed lotus petals to the boiling water and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Strain the liquid through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove the petals.
  • Add sugar to the warm liquid according to your taste and stir until dissolved.
  • Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature.
  • Add lemon or lime juice to taste once cooled.
  • Serve over ice cubes in a glass.
  • Garnish with fresh mint leaves before serving.

Notes

Store leftover Lotus Drinks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Avoid freezing to maintain flavor and texture.
