Ingrédients
  

Valentine’s Day Ribeye Steak

  • 2 ribeye steaks 1–1½ inches thick
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic smashed
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary or thyme
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper freshly ground

Instructions
 

  • Remove steaks from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking. Pat dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat until very hot. Add olive oil.
  • Place steaks in the skillet and sear for 3–4 minutes per side until a deep crust forms.
  • Reduce heat to medium. Add butter, garlic, and herbs to the pan.
  • Baste steaks with melted butter for 1–2 minutes until desired doneness is reached.
  • Remove steaks from skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad. Medium-rare internal temperature is about 130–135°F (54–57°C).
