Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a cake pan.
In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Add egg, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cake cool completely before frosting.
For the frosting, beat butter with powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and milk until smooth. Spread over cake.
Notes
Decorate with fresh berries or heart-shaped sprinkles for a Valentine’s Day touch.
