  • 1 lb carrots peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Peel and slice the carrots into uniform pieces for even cooking.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Add sliced carrots and sauté for about 5 minutes until slightly tender.
  • Stir in brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix until the carrots are evenly coated.
  • Continue cooking for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar caramelizes and the carrots are glazed and tender.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed, then remove from heat.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs like parsley or thyme before serving.

Notes

Use maple syrup or honey instead of brown sugar for a different flavor. For a vegan version, replace butter with coconut oil. Add a pinch of cinnamon or cayenne for a twist. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days, and reheat in a skillet with a splash of water.
