Turkey and Spinach Stuffed Shells

Ingrédients
  

For the Filling

  • 1 pound ground turkey Can substitute with ground chicken or plant-based meat.
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped Use fresh for best flavor.
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese Can be substituted with a dairy-free alternative.
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded Reserve half for topping.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Reserve half for topping.
  • 1 large egg Helps bind the filling.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Enhances flavor.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Pasta and Sauce

  • 12 pieces jumbo pasta shells Cook according to package instructions.
  • 1 jar marinara sauce (24 oz) Use your favorite brand.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to package instructions and drain gently.

Cooking the Filling

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add ground turkey and minced garlic. Cook until turkey is browned.
  • Add the chopped spinach and cook until wilted.
  • In a bowl, combine turkey and spinach mixture with ricotta cheese, egg, half of the mozzarella, and half of the Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.

Assembling the Dish

  • Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Stuff each pasta shell with the turkey and spinach filling.
  • Arrange the stuffed shells in the baking dish and pour the remaining marinara sauce over them.
  • Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.

Baking

  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.

Notes

Allow for ingredient substitutions based on dietary preferences. Delicious when served with garlic bread and a green salad.
