Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and pre-measure them.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Peel and cube the yams into 1-inch cubes.
  • Place the cubed yams into a pot of boiling water and let them cook for about 15-20 minutes or until tender. Drain.
  • Transfer the drained yams to a mixing bowl and add butter, brown sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt. Mash until smooth.
  • Spread the mashed yams evenly into a baking dish.
  • Top the mashed yams with mini marshmallows.

Baking

  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until marshmallows are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and serve warm.

Notes
