Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and soften the cream cheese to room temperature.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and finely chopped green onions.
  • Add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined, creating a smooth and creamy texture.
  • Using your hands, shape the mixture into a ball.
  • Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • While the cheese ball is chilling, chop the nuts if not done already.
  • Once firm, unwrap the cheese ball and roll it in the chopped nuts to coat.
  • Craft a turkey shape using a small piece of cheese or cherry tomato as the head and garnish with sliced bell peppers or lettuce for feathers.
  • Place the completed turkey cheese ball back in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
  • Select a decorative platter for serving and lay crackers or veggie sticks around it.
  • Let the turkey cheese ball sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Make ahead of time and store in the fridge. Lasts about a week! Avoid freezing to maintain texture.
