Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients, ensuring the turkey is defrosted and ready for seasoning. Clean and peel the potatoes.

Cooking the Turkey

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Remove the turkey giblets, pat the bird dry, and season it with salt, pepper, and melted butter. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
  • Roast the turkey based on its weight, allowing approximately 13 minutes per pound. Use a meat thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  • Once done, let the turkey rest for at least 20-30 minutes before carving.

Cooking the Potatoes

  • While the turkey roasts, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the peeled and chopped potatoes. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Once boiled, mash the potatoes with butter, heavy cream, and milk until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Preparing the Pumpkin Pie Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, sugar, eggs, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Whisk until thoroughly blended.

Baking the Pumpkin Pie

  • Pour the pumpkin mixture into the pre-made pie crust. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for the first 15 minutes, then lower the temperature to 350°F (175°C) for an additional 30-35 minutes.

Serving

  • Carve the turkey and serve alongside the creamy mashed potatoes and slices of warm pumpkin pie.

Notes

Ensure to cool leftovers before transferring them to airtight containers. Leftovers will last up to four days in the refrigerator and can be frozen for about three months.
