Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking dish

Ingrédients

Main Ingredients

  • 12-14 lb turkey or choice of protein
  • 2 cups chopped vegetables onion, celery, and carrots
  • 2 tsp herbs and spices sage, thyme, rosemary, black pepper
  • 2 cups stock or broth chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup butter or plant-based butter alternative
  • 6 cups bread cubes for stuffing

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients and preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped vegetables and sauté until softened and lightly caramelized, about 10–15 minutes.
  • Add bread cubes and herbs to the skillet, mixing well so the bread is evenly coated with butter and spices.
  • Gradually pour in broth, stirring until the bread is moist but not soggy. Let sit for a few minutes to absorb flavors.
  • Transfer mixture into a baking dish, or use it to stuff a turkey. Bake uncovered for 30–40 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
  • Remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Try variations like apple and sausage stuffing, or mushroom and spinach for a twist. For a vegan version, replace butter with olive oil and use vegetable broth.
