For the Mashed Potatoes

  • 2 lbs Potatoes (starchy varieties like Russet) For the best mashing results.
  • 1/2 cup Butter Adds creaminess and richness.
  • 1/2 cup Milk Whole milk is preferred; substitutes allowed.

For the Green Beans

  • 1 lb Green Beans Fresh, washed, and trimmed.
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil For sautéing.
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) For aroma and flavor.

  • to taste Pepper For seasoning.

For the Stuffing

  • 1 box Stuffing Mix Choose your favorite blend.
  • 2 cups Vegetable Broth Homemade or store-bought.
  • 1 Onion (diced) Base flavor for the stuffing.
  • 2 stalks Celery (diced) Adds crunch and depth.
  • to taste Herbs (sage, thyme, rosemary) Fresh or dried, for flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Wash and peel the potatoes. Chop them into even chunks.
  • Rinse the green beans, trim the ends, and set aside. Dice the onion and celery.

Cooking the Potatoes

  • Place chopped potatoes in a large pot, cover with salted water, and bring to a boil. Simmer until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  • Drain the potatoes, return to pot, add butter and milk, and mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.

Preparing the Green Beans

  • Boil water for the green beans. Blanch for about 3 minutes, then transfer to an ice water bath.
  • In a skillet, heat olive oil, add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. Add the green beans and sauté until tender, about 4-5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Cooking the Stuffing

  • Heat a pan and sauté diced onion and celery in olive oil until soft, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add stuffing mix and vegetable broth to pan. Stir well and allow to absorb broth. Season with herbs.
  • Transfer to a baking dish and bake according to package instructions, usually around 20-30 minutes.

Serving

  • Arrange the mashed potatoes, sautéed green beans, and stuffing on a platter and serve with turkey.

Notes
