Dry Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour Can be substituted with whole wheat flour.
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (about 2 1/4 teaspoons) Can substitute with instant yeast.
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm milk (about 110°F) Can substitute with almond or oat milk for dairy-free.
  • 1/2 cup melted butter Can substitute with plant-based butter or coconut oil.
  • 2 large eggs For a vegan substitute, use flaxseed meal or applesauce.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients for your Texas Roadhouse Rolls.
  • Combine warm milk and yeast in a bowl; let sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add melted butter, eggs, and the frothy yeast mixture into the flour mixture and stir until well combined.

Kneading and Rising

  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm location until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  • Once risen, punch down the dough to remove excess air.

Shaping and Second Rise

  • Divide the dough into small balls based on desired roll size.
  • Arrange the dough balls on a baking sheet, cover with a towel, and let rise for another 30 minutes.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Brush the baked rolls with additional melted butter before serving.

Notes

Store rolls at room temperature in an airtight container for 2-3 days. For best results, serve warm.
