Strawberry Mousse

Main ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons gelatin powder
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Preparation

  • Prepare ingredients by hulling and slicing the strawberries.

Make Strawberry Puree

  • In a blender, blend the sliced strawberries until smooth.

Mix Ingredients

  • Transfer the strawberry puree to a mixing bowl, add sugar and stir.

Prepare Gelatin

  • Sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let it bloom for about 5 minutes.

Dissolve Gelatin

  • Gently heat the gelatin until fully dissolved and add to strawberry mixture.

Whip Cream

  • Whip the heavy cream and vanilla until soft peaks form.

Combine Mixtures

  • Fold the whipped cream into the strawberry mixture gently.

Chill

  • Pour the mousse into serving glasses and chill for at least 2 hours.

Notes

Store any leftovers in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. This mousse can be frozen for up to 1 month.
