  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced Make sure they are ripe for optimal flavor.
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced Brush with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • 1 box vanilla wafer cookies These add crunch to the dessert.
  • Whipped cream (for topping, optional)

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Wash and slice the fresh strawberries and bananas.

Layering

  • In a trifle dish or a large serving bowl, layer vanilla wafer cookies at the bottom.
  • Layer the sliced strawberries evenly over the cookies, followed by a layer of sliced bananas.
  • Pour half of the prepared vanilla pudding over the fruit layers and cover the fruit completely.
  • Repeat the process with another layer of cookies, then more strawberries and bananas, and pour the remaining pudding on top.
  • Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream, if desired.

Chilling

  • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour to allow flavors to meld.

Serving

  • After chilling, serve the Strawberry Banana Pudding chilled.

Notes
