Meatball Mixture

  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, cubed Cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients.
  • Chop the fresh spinach and mince the garlic.
  • Measure out your ground meat, breadcrumbs, and any other ingredients you plan to use.

Mix Ingredients

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, chopped spinach, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.

Prepare Cheese

  • Cut mozzarella cheese into small cubes.

Form Meatballs

  • Take a small amount of the meat mixture, flatten it slightly, place a cube of mozzarella in the center, and carefully fold the meat around the cheese.
  • Shape it into a meatball and repeat until all meat mixture is used.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add meatballs and sear them for approximately 5 minutes until browned.
  • Transfer the seared meatballs to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes.

Rest and Serve

  • Remove meatballs from oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

To maximize freshness, store in an airtight container. They last 3-4 days in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.
