  • 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into bite-sized pieces Use beef chuck for best taste and tenderness.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Can substitute with olive oil for lactose-free.
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced Key for flavor; sauté briefly to avoid bitterness.
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce Use gluten-free soy sauce if necessary.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme Can substitute with fresh herbs.
  • 1/2 cup beef broth

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by cutting the beef chuck into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a small pan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  • Once the butter is melted and garlic is aromatic, pour this garlic butter over the bite-sized beef in the slow cooker.

Cooking

  • Sprinkle in the soy sauce, black pepper, salt, thyme, and beef broth.
  • Stir the beef and seasoning mixture until all pieces are well-coated.
  • Cover the slow cooker, set it on low, and let it cook for 6 hours.
  • After about 6 hours, check that the beef is very tender and falls apart with a fork.

Serving

  • Once done, serve hot and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Perfect for serving with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread. Can freeze for up to 3 months and store in the fridge for 3-4 days.
