Preparation

  • Start by gathering all the ingredients listed above.
  • Mince the garlic and ensure the chicken breasts are thawed if frozen.

Cooking

  • Place the chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ground ginger. Mix well until dissolved.
  • Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
  • Cover the slow cooker and set it on low. Allow the chicken to cook for 6-7 hours.
  • Once cooked, carefully remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water until smooth. Stir into the remaining sauce in the slow cooker.
  • Cover and cook for an additional 15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Slice or shred the chicken, and drizzle the thickened sauce on top.
