Sloppy Joe Casserole Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 cup diced yellow onion
  • 2 15 oz cans Manwich Sloppy Joe sauce original variety
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta cooked al dente
  • 8 oz Velveeta cheese shredded or cubed
  • 8 oz Colby-Jack cheese shredded, for topping
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are softened, about 5–7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  • Stir in the two cans of Manwich Sloppy Joe sauce and mix until well combined with the meat and onions.
  • Add the cooked bowtie pasta and Velveeta cheese to the meat mixture. Stir until the cheese begins to melt and coat the pasta evenly.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared casserole dish and spread it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the shredded Colby-Jack cheese over the top in an even layer.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

You can substitute any short pasta you have on hand, and add vegetables like bell peppers for extra nutrition. Leftovers store well in the fridge for 3-4 days.
