  • 1 whole lemon, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice About 1 lemon's worth.
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted Can substitute with coconut oil for a dairy-free option.
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons honey Maple syrup is a good substitute.
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely pressed or minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley Optional, for garnishing.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F.
  • While the oven is heating, gather all your ingredients.

Setting Up the Foil

  • Cut a piece of heavy-duty foil and lay it on a sheet pan.
  • Ensure it is large enough to fold and contain the salmon and juices.

Assembling the Dish

  • Position the salmon fillet skin-side down on the prepared foil.
  • Nestle thinly sliced lemon underneath the salmon.

Preparing the Butter Mixture

  • In a microwave-safe container, melt the unsalted butter.
  • Stir in fresh lemon juice, honey, and minced garlic until fully combined.

Baking

  • Pour about three-quarters of the butter mixture over the salmon.
  • Sprinkle with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Fold the edges of the foil up and over the salmon to create a nearly airtight packet.
  • Place the foil packet on the sheet pan and bake for approximately 17 minutes.
  • After baking, carefully open the foil packet and set your oven to high broil.

Finishing Touches

  • Drizzle the reserved butter mixture over the salmon, if desired.
  • Broil for an additional 5 to 10 minutes until golden.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

To enhance flavor, allow salmon to marinate for 10-15 minutes if time permits. Pair with a light salad or vegetables for a complete meal.
