  • 10 ounces can of Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies No substitutions needed.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your preference) Feel free to mix different types of cheese.
  • 1 cup biscuit mix Gluten-free biscuit mix can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) so it’s ready when your mixture is complete.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sausage and cream cheese until thoroughly mixed and creamy.
  • Stir in the can of Rotel tomatoes and green chilies until well incorporated.
  • Add in the shredded cheese and mix until combined.
  • Sprinkle in the biscuit mix, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well combined.
  • Roll small amounts of the mixture into balls about one inch in diameter.
  • Place the rolled balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they are spaced apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and firm to the touch.
  • Let them cool slightly before serving to enhance flavor and texture.

Notes

These sausage balls can be made ahead of time and stored for 3-4 days in the refrigerator or frozen for up to 3 months. When reheating, ensure they are heated through but not overcooked.
