Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Roll fresh limes on the counter to release more juice before cutting.
  • If desired, moisten the rim of your glass with lime juice and dip into salt.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the tequila, lime juice, and triple sec.
  • Fill the shaker with ice until it reaches the top.
  • Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Fill your salted glass with fresh ice.
  • Carefully strain the shaken mixture into the prepared glass.
  • Add a lime wedge as a garnish.

Notes

For a non-alcoholic version, replace tequila and triple sec with club soda and additional lime juice.
