Ingrédients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry sheets (thawed) Ensure they are pliable.
  • 2 cups fresh fruit (e.g., berries, apples, peaches) Use seasonal fruits for best flavor.
  • to taste sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of the fruit.
  • 1 egg for egg wash Optional for a vegan version: use almond milk and maple syrup.
  • to taste powdered sugar For dusting before serving.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients. Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to package instructions and preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Rolling and Cutting Pastry

  • On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheets until they are thin and even. Cut them into uniform shapes—squares, rectangles, or circles.

Filling and Sealing

  • Place a small amount of fresh fruit onto one half of each pastry shape. Avoid overfilling to prevent leaks. Sprinkle a little sugar over the fruit for added sweetness.
  • Fold the pastry over the fruit-filled half and gently press the edges to seal. Use a fork to crimp the edges for better sealing and decoration.

Baking

  • Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the tops of the pastries generously with the egg wash for a golden finish.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and transfer the pastries onto it, spacing them appropriately.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until the pastries are golden brown and puffed up.
  • Once baked, let the pastries cool on a wire rack for a few minutes, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For variety, try adding a pinch of cinnamon to the sugar or incorporating chopped nuts into the filling. Can be made ahead and stored properly.
