Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Make sure the butter is melted and allow the eggs to reach room temperature.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Mixing the Filling

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the packed light brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted unsalted butter. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the light corn syrup (or maple syrup), eggs, and vanilla extract to the sugar mixture. Mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Fold in the pecans and salt.

Preparing the Batter

  • In another bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and remaining salt.
