Apple Filling

  • 6 apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

Crisp Topping

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, and flour. Toss to coat evenly.
  • Spread apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in melted butter until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples, pressing down lightly.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes, until apples are tender and topping is golden brown.
  • Let cool 15 minutes before serving. Best enjoyed warm with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use a mix of apple varieties (such as Granny Smith and Honeycrisp) for the best flavor. Add chopped nuts or dried fruit for extra texture.
