  • 1 cup green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup can be substituted with a plant-based version
  • 1 cup fried onions
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese freshly shredded is preferred
  • 1/2 cup milk can be substituted with plant-based milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed use gluten-free puff pastry if needed

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and trim the green beans into 1-inch pieces.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Fold in half of the fried onions and half of the shredded cheddar cheese into the green bean mixture.

Assembly

  • Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into 3-inch squares.
  • Place a generous spoonful of the green bean mixture into the center of each pastry square.
  • Fold the pastry corners over the filling and pinch the edges tightly to seal.
  • Arrange the bites on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
  • Top each Mini Green Bean Casserole Bite with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese and fried onions.

Baking

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow the bites to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These bites can be prepared in advance and frozen before baking. Bake directly from frozen, adding a few minutes to the cooking time. Perfect for gatherings!
