Ingrédients

Main ingredients

  • 1.5 cups pecans, chopped Provides crunch
  • 1 cup maple syrup Adds sweetness and depth
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar Enhances sweetness
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter, melted You can use coconut oil as a substitute for dairy-free
  • 3 large eggs For binding
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness
  • 1 pre-made pie crust Can use gluten-free crust if needed

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by measuring all your ingredients. Chopping the pecans ahead of time will make the mixing process smoother.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This is crucial for ensuring even baking.

Mixing

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Use a whisk or fork to blend until smooth.
  • Once the wet ingredients are mixed well, incorporate the chopped pecans. Stir until they are evenly coated with the syrup mixture.

Assembly

  • Take the pre-made pie crust and place it into a standard-sized pie dish. Adjust the edges to fit nicely.
  • Pour the pecan mixture into the prepared crust, ensuring it is evenly spread out within the crust.

Baking

  • Place the tart in the preheated oven and bake for 45–50 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when the filling is set and slightly golden on top.

Serving

  • Allow the tart to cool at room temperature for at least 10-15 minutes. This step is essential for letting the filling firm up.
  • Slice the tart into wedges and serve. Enjoy it as is or with your favorite ice cream.

Notes

For variations, consider adding chocolate chips, nutmeg, or spices based on your preference. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to four days.
