  • 1 cup macaroni Cook until al dente.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to mix with other cheeses.
  • 1 cup milk Use dairy-free alternatives if needed.
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder.
  • 1 medium onion, chopped Enhances flavor.
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Use gluten-free if necessary.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Can be substituted with soy sauce.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Adds depth of flavor.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Mixing

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with the cooked macaroni.
  • Add the chopped onion, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well.

Combine

  • Gently fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs.

Baking

  • Grease a casserole dish and pour the mixture into it, spreading it out evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the top is browned.
  • Remove from oven and sprinkle the remaining cup of cheese on top. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until melted and bubbly.

Serving

  • Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares and serving.
