  • 1/4 cup mung bean paste
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients you will need for the recipe, ensuring you have everything measured out.

Mixing Dry Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour and sugar.

Combine Wet Ingredients

  • Add the water and coconut milk to the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.

Prepare Mung Bean Mixture

  • In a separate bowl, mix the mung bean paste with vanilla extract.

Layering Mixtures

  • Grease a steaming dish and pour half of the rice flour mixture into the dish.
  • Spread the mung bean mixture over this layer.

Finish Layering

  • Pour the remaining rice flour mixture over the mung bean layer.

Cooking

  • Steam the dish for about 30 minutes or until set.

Cooling and Serving

  • Allow to cool, cut into squares, and sprinkle shredded coconut on top.

Notes

Store in an airtight container. Best served with traditional teas. Avoid overmixing to maintain texture.
