Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather and measure all your ingredients.

Cooking the Bacon

  • In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the pan, crumble it, and set aside.
  • Leave about 1 tablespoon of grease in the skillet.

Cooking the Beef

  • Drain most of the excess bacon grease from the skillet. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Incorporate the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion is soft and translucent.

Seasoning the Mixture

  • Stir in the smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for another minute.

Adding Cream Cheese

  • Lower the heat and add the softened cream cheese to the beef mixture. Stir until melted and evenly distributed.

Combining Ingredients

  • Fold the crumbled bacon back into the beef mixture and spread evenly into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.

Preparing Egg Mixture

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, yellow mustard, and ketchup (if using).
  • Add half of the cheddar cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese, mixing well.

Assembling the Casserole

  • Pour the egg mixture over the beef layer in the baking dish, ensuring an even distribution.
  • Top with the remaining cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.

Baking

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the casserole for 25–30 minutes until the center is set and the top is golden brown.

Serving

  • Allow the casserole to cool slightly before slicing. Garnish with pickles or parsley if desired.
