  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3.5 ounces white cooking wine
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 10.75 ounces condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • Dash pepper
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients on the countertop.
  • Mince the garlic and shred the cheddar cheese.

Cooking the Beef

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add ground beef. Season with white cooking wine, minced garlic, onion powder, and a dash of pepper.

Mixing Flavorings

  • Stir Worcestershire sauce into the cooked beef mixture.

Adding Cheddar

  • Stir in condensed cheddar cheese soup and shredded cheddar cheese on low heat, stirring continuously for 3-5 minutes.

Preparing Bread

  • Slice the French bread into four equal sections and carefully halve each section vertically.

Assembling Sandwiches

  • Fill each section of French bread with one-quarter of the beef mixture, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Spray each sandwich with non-stick cooking spray and wrap tightly in aluminum foil.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes.
  • Check for doneness after 10 minutes and leave in longer if necessary.

Serving

  • Unwrap the sandwiches and serve warm.

Notes

Use fresh French bread for the best texture. Customize with different cheeses or toppings as desired.
