For the Toppings

  • 1/2 cup sour cream Use less for a lighter version
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions Adds freshness and color

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients and set out a baking sheet.

Cooking

  • Preheat your oven according to the package instructions for the frozen tater tots.
  • Spread the frozen tater tots on the baking sheet evenly and bake them until golden brown and crispy, which should take about 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Once the tater tots are out of the oven, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and cooked bacon bits over the top.
  • Return the baking sheet to the oven for an additional 3 to 5 minutes to melt the cheese.
  • Remove from the oven and add a drizzle or dollop of sour cream over the top.
  • Sprinkle chopped green onions on top and serve hot.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. You can also freeze them before or after cooking.
