Preparation

  • Start by washing the limes thoroughly. Get them ready for juicing by rolling them on the countertop to release more juice.
  • Juice the limes into a measuring cup, ensuring to remove any seeds as you go. You should end up with about one cup of lime juice.

Mixing

  • In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lime juice with the cold water. Stir gently to mix.
  • Add the sugar to the pitcher and stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Place the pitcher in the fridge for about 30 minutes to chill.

Serving

  • Fill glasses with ice cubes.
  • Pour the chilled lime agua fresca over the ice and enjoy! Garnish with lime slices or fresh mint if desired.

Storage

  • Store any leftovers in a covered pitcher in the refrigerator. It’s best enjoyed within two days.

Notes

Avoid over-juicing limes, skipping the chilling step, and using bottled juice for the best flavor. Consider adding fresh mint for an aromatic twist!
