  • 500 g Rice cake (tteok)
  • 200 g Beef (preferably sirloin or brisket)
  • 1 medium Carrots sliced into thin strips
  • 1 medium Radish sliced into thin strips
  • 2 Eggs for scrambling
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 Green onions chopped for garnish
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Soak the rice cakes in water for about an hour to soften them.
  • Slice the beef, carrots, and radish into thin strips.

Cooking

  • Heat a pan over medium heat and add sesame oil.
  • Once hot, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  • Stir in the sliced beef and cook until browned.
  • Add sliced carrots and radish, stir-fry until slightly tender.
  • Combine the soaked rice cakes with the mixture and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • In a separate pan, scramble the eggs until fully cooked and slice them for garnish.
  • Remove the rice cake mixture from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.
  • Serve hot, adding salt and black pepper to taste.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute beef with tofu or tempeh and omit eggs. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
