  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs Can be substituted with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Optional for a dairy-free version.
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley Fresh parsley preferred.
  • 1 piece egg At room temperature for best results.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the gravy

  • 1 cup beef broth Use low-sodium if preferred.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Can substitute with soy sauce.
  • 2 tablespoons flour To thicken the gravy.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For browning meatballs.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Remove the meatballs and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add flour to the drippings and whisk for 1-2 minutes.
  • Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring until the gravy thickens.
  • Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes on low heat.
  • Check for doneness and ensure meatballs reach an internal temperature of 160°F.

Serving

  • Serve the meatballs and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
