Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients. Measure out the flour, warm water, yeast, olive oil, and salt.
  • In a bowl, combine the warm water with the active dry yeast. Allow it to sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  • Add the olive oil and salt to your yeast mixture. Stir to combine. Gradually add the flour little by little, mixing with a wooden spoon or spatula until a dough starts to form.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead it for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl. Cover it with a clean cloth and let it rise in a warm area for approximately 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.
  • Once the hour is up and the dough has risen, punch it down gently to release any trapped air.
  • Divide the dough into portions based on your desired pizza size. Each portion can be shaped into a ball.
  • Let each dough ball rest for another 30 minutes to allow the gluten to relax.
  • Once rested, take a dough ball and start shaping it into your pizza crust with your hands or rolling pin.
  • Preheat your oven to the highest setting (around 475°F to 500°F). Add your favorite toppings and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.

Notes
