Cinnamon Rock Candy Mixture

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp cinnamon extract
  • 1/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • food coloring optional, for color
  • powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions
 

  • Gather all ingredients to ensure a smooth cooking process.
  • In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and cream of tartar over medium heat. Stir until dissolved.
  • Increase heat to high and bring to a boil without stirring.
  • Monitor temperature with a candy thermometer until it reaches 300°F (150°C), the hard crack stage.
  • Remove from heat, stir in cinnamon extract and optional food coloring.
  • Pour hot mixture into a greased pan. Allow to cool completely for several hours.
  • Once hardened, break into small pieces and dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking. Enjoy!
