Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients required for the cookies, ensuring the butter is softened to room temperature.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Mixing

  • In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.

Combining

  • Gradually add the flour mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space for spreading.

Baking and Cooling

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden around the edges and soft in the center.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Frosting
