Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Gather and pre-measure all your ingredients.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your baking pan by greasing and flouring it.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy for about 3-5 minutes.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture and sour cream, alternating between them, mixing until just combined.
  • Fold in the strawberry puree gently to maintain its structure.

Prepare Cream Cheese Layer

  • In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese with powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.

Assemble Cake

  • Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared pan, dollop half of the cream cheese mixture over it, and create swirls with a knife.
  • Repeat layering with the remaining batter and cream cheese mixture.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.
