Preparation
- Gather all your ingredients and ensure the butter is softened to room temperature.
- If using fresh strawberries, wash them thoroughly, remove the stems, and puree them in a blender until smooth.
Mixing the Dough
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and the prepared strawberry puree, ensuring thorough incorporation.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing just until a smooth dough forms.
Shaping and Baking
- Roll the dough into small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Press a chocolate kiss gently into the center of each cookie dough ball.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden around the edges; the centers may remain soft.
Cooling and Serving
