Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and ensure the mashed potatoes are cooled properly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes with the shredded mozzarella cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Shape the mixture into sticks, each roughly 3 inches long and 1 inch thick.
  • Dredge each stick in all-purpose flour, then dip in beaten egg, ensuring they are fully coated.
  • Roll the sticks in breadcrumbs until fully coated.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until hot.
  • Carefully place coated potato cheese sticks into the hot oil and fry in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For added flavor, incorporate herbs or spices into the potato mixture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
