  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup yogurt sauce Can substitute with tzatziki or any creamy dressing.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Gather all the ingredients you will need before you start cooking.
  • Dice the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces and chop the vegetables.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Add the diced chicken, season it with salt and pepper, and cook until heated through for about 5 minutes.

Warming the Pitas

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Place the whole wheat pitas on a baking sheet and warm them in the oven for a few minutes.

Assembly

  • Once the pitas are warm, carefully open each one.
  • Start layering in the cooked chicken first, followed by the shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, and red onions.

Adding Sauce

  • Drizzle yogurt sauce over the toppings inside each pita.

Closing and Serving

  • Gently squeeze the sides of each pita together to close them.
