Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and measure the semolina, yogurt, sugar, vegetable oil, baking powder, cardamom powder, and salt. Chop nuts if using.

Cooking

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine semolina, yogurt, sugar, vegetable oil, baking powder, cardamom powder, and salt. Mix until the batter is smooth and creamy.
  • Allow the batter to rest for about 15 minutes. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a baking pan with oil or butter. Pour the batter into the pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Sprinkle chopped nuts if desired.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
