Preparation

  • Begin by soaking the dried black-eyed peas in water overnight.
  • After soaking, drain and rinse the peas thoroughly under cold water.

Seasoning

  • In a large bowl, toss the rinsed peas with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.

Cooking

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the seasoned peas in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Air fry the peas for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  • If the peas aren’t as crispy as desired, cook them for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Serving

  • Once cooked, remove the peas from the air fryer and allow them to cool slightly before enjoying.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the air fryer to restore crispiness.
