  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 2 cups cooked rice or quinoa
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped

Preparation

  • Prep your workspace and ingredients. Chop the garlic and grate the ginger. Rinse and trim the broccoli florets. Cook your rice or quinoa if it’s not pre-cooked.
  • Make the honey garlic sauce by combining honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger in a medium-sized bowl. Stir well and set aside.

Cooking

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat for about a minute until it shimmers.
  • Add the shrimp to the hot pan in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the shrimp and stir gently to coat each piece. Cook for another 2 minutes to let the sauce thicken slightly.
  • Steam the broccoli in a separate pot until tender but vibrant green, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Fluff your cooked rice or quinoa with a fork before serving.

Assembly

  • Fill a bowl with a generous scoop of rice or quinoa. Top with the honey garlic shrimp and steamed broccoli. Sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
