Ingrédients
  

Meatballs

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • salt and pepper to taste

Honey Garlic Sauce

  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Sweet Pepper Dip

  • 1 cup roasted red bell peppers chopped
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare a skillet for sautéing.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, egg, garlic, soy sauce, honey, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  • Form mixture into bite-sized meatballs and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or cook in skillet until browned and cooked through.
  • Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, and garlic. Simmer for 5 minutes, then thicken with cornstarch-water slurry until glossy.
  • For the dip: blend roasted red peppers, cream cheese, mayonnaise, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  • Toss cooked meatballs in honey garlic sauce, garnish with parsley, and serve with sweet pepper dip.

Notes

For an extra kick, add chili flakes to the honey garlic sauce. This recipe also works great with turkey or chicken mince for a lighter version.
