Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken breasts into uniform, bite-sized pieces.
  • Mince the garlic and measure out all other ingredients.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season chicken with salt and black pepper, then add to skillet. Cook for 6–8 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove chicken from skillet and set aside on a plate.
  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
  • Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Pour honey sauce mixture into the skillet and let it come to a gentle simmer.
  • Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry and add to bubbling sauce, stirring continuously until thickened.
  • Return chicken to skillet and toss until chicken is coated in sauce, heating through for another 2–3 minutes.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
  • Serve over cooked rice.

Notes

To adapt for dietary restrictions, use tamari for gluten-free or replace honey with a zero-calorie sweetener. Ensure you don’t overcook the chicken or burn the garlic.
