  • 1 pound Ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken.
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs Preferably Italian.
  • 1 large Egg Use room temperature for better mixing.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Optional for a dairy-free version.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/2 medium Onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste.

For the Spaghetti

  • 1 box Spaghetti Substitute with gluten-free pasta if needed.
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce For serving.
  • Olive oil Olive oil For cooking and preventing sticking.

Preparation

  • Gather all your ingredients to keep your kitchen organized.
  • Chop the onion and mince the garlic ahead of time.

Cooking Spaghetti

  • Fill a large pot with water, add salt, and bring to a boil.
  • Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions (about 8-10 minutes) until al dente.
  • Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.

Making Meatballs

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix by hand until evenly incorporated.
  • Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1-2 inches in diameter.

Cooking Meatballs

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Add the meatballs in batches, browning them on all sides for 5-7 minutes.

Simmering

  • Pour the marinara sauce over the browned meatballs in the skillet.
  • Lower the heat, cover, and let simmer for about 20 minutes.

Serving

  • Drain the spaghetti and toss with a small drizzle of olive oil to prevent sticking.
  • Serve the meatballs with marinara sauce over the spaghetti.
  • Top with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Avoid overcooking pasta; ensure meatballs are browned for depth of flavor. Adjust seasoning to taste, and feel free to customize with herbs.
