Ingrédients

For the Liqueur Base

  • 1 cup vodka Use high-quality vodka for better flavor.
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract This gives the liqueur its signature flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brandy Optional, add for extra depth of flavor.
  • 1 cup water Used to create simple syrup.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all the ingredients. Measure out each component carefully to ensure accuracy in your final product.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine white sugar, brown sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugars dissolve completely. This creates a simple syrup, which typically takes about 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Once combined, remove the saucepan from heat. Let the syrup cool to room temperature.
  • Once the syrup is cool, take a large bottle and carefully combine the syrup with vodka, almond extract, vanilla extract, and optional brandy if using.
  • Seal the bottle tightly and shake gently to ensure all ingredients blend well together.
  • Store the bottle in a cool, dark place for at least two weeks to allow the flavors to meld.
  • After the two-week period, open the bottle and taste your Homemade Amaretto. Adjust sweetness if necessary.
  • Enjoy your Homemade Amaretto over ice, in coffee, or in desserts.
