Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by gathering all your ingredients and equipment. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a donut pan.

Making the Batter

  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently mix until just combined.

Coloring and Baking

  • Divide the batter into two bowls. Add red food coloring to one and pink to the other.
  • Carefully spoon the red batter into the greased donut pan halfway, then layer with the pink batter.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow the donuts to cool completely in the pan.

Glazing

  • Mix powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk until smooth for the glaze.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the cooled donuts and finish with sprinkles if desired.

Notes

Store donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for 1-2 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Consider adding citrus zest or infusing the glaze with flavors.
